#1. COUNTER-STRIKE GLOBAL OFFENSIVE

Every first shooter gamer, whether professional or casual, at some point in time, played Counterstrike. The latest installation of Counter-Strike was released in 2012 and has had many updates ever since. 

Counter-Strike has evolved very much in gameplay and graphics over the years. The recent update Counter-Strike even introduced Battle Royale Danger Zone, which can be played alongside the classic 5v5 in competitive mode.

Valorant is the new kid on the block in the first-person multiplayer shooter games released on June 2, 2020. It was developed with former Counter-Strike veterans taking in their feedback to create an exciting tactical first-person shooter. Valorant is a 5v5 game with 12 unique characters, each with 4 abilities that include an ultimate one.

Valorant objective is to either plant or defuses the bomb to win the round; the first team wins 13 rounds wins the game. Valorant is free to play and can be downloaded from the Valorant website and play with over 3 million logging players daily.

#3. WARZONE

Call of Duty Warzone is a new Battle Royale game that came with Call of Duty Modern Warfare targeting the Battle Royale enthusiasts. Warzone can be downloaded separately from the Call of Duty Modern Warfare game and is free to play.

Players can choose their own specified weapons loadout with attachments to suit their playstyle, called in after collecting enough money. After parachuting in with a team of 3, players have to look for supplies and weapons on the ground.

With 150 players landing on a huge map of around 9-kilometer square, you will need all the resources to survive and get that helicopter ride before the gas closes in.

#4. PUBG

Pubg was released in 2016 and is credited with popularizing battle gaming, which led to other Battle Royale games.

This game is a classic battle royale where the player, whether it’s a solo, duo, or squad of up to 4 players, parachutes down into maps and battles it out with a lobby of around 100 players.

#6. APEX LEGENDS

Apex Legend is a Battle Royale game published by Electronic Arts (EA) developed by Respawn Entertainment. Its release in early 2019 took the gaming world by surprise, and for many months to come, it remained the most played Battle Royale game dethroning Fortnite.

Players are dropped on planet Titanfall in a team of 3 players, which consists of different heroes with different abilities to choose from. EA has been releasing new heroes with every season raising the number to 14 with plans to release more with the future seasons.

Apex legends aim to clear out a lobby of 60 players, with you and your team being the last ones alive to clinch that victory. Apex Legends has 70 million registered users and is played by many streamers on Twitch. The game can be installed by downloading Origin, which is a distribution platform by EA for free.

#7. LEAGUE OF LEGENDS (free pc games)

League of Legends is actually a multiplayer online battle arena game developed by Riot games. And it was inspired by Warcraft III community mod Defense of the Ancients released on October 27, 2009.

League of legends, like any other MOBA, is a matchup between two teams of 5 players, each where the aim is to destroy the enemy team’s structure called Nexus, which lies inside the enemy base. Each team member plays a specific role like Top, Mid, Jungler, Mid, ADC, and Support.

Every team member must fulfill their role in the position they’re playing to win the game. There are 151 champions of different builds to choose from. These champions have different types and abilities selected by players to suit their playstyle.

League of Legends is a popular game with over 27 million people playing the game daily. That culminated into an extensive Esports structure where tournaments are held at many levels, with the top-level tournaments being played in jam-packed stadiums with a $2.5 million prize pool in 2020. Defense of the Ancients 2 is a multiplayer battle arena created by Valve and is a sequel to the community created mod of Warcraft 3 known as Defence of the ancients.

DOTA 2 came out in 2013 with its initial release, and after that, Valve seeing the game’s popularity has released many expansions. A typical DOTA 2 game consists of two five players teams battling it out with 100s of heroes with unique abilities to choose from.

Each player is assigned a special role in the game. For example, a strength hero would act as a tank shielding the team and retaliating against enemies onslaught. The aim is simple, destroy enemies’ ancients before they destroy yours.

DOTA 2 has an extensive Esport structure where teams worldwide compete for a prize pool of $35.5 million, which broke the record of the largest prize pool in esports. DOTA 2 is free to play and can be installed from Steam.

#9. GTA 5

Grand Theft Auto 5 came out in 2013 latest edition of the GTA franchise by Rockstar and took the world by surprise with its graphics, gameplay design, and an engaging story revolving around three different individuals.

GTA 5 introduced multiplayer options in the GTA franchise, opening the city of Los Santos for players around the world to explore. Although many years have passed GTA 5 online still has around 130,000 players online that play the game, and why wouldn’t they?

Hearthstone is a card game created by Blizzard Entertainment played online to strategize and outwit your opponent by attacking his hero on the board.

The game has exquisite animations of summoning, drawing cards, and attacking the enemy, which adds to the fun. Each player chooses a hero, the hero’s weapon, and minions, which are used to attack the enemy. The player draws a card every turn, which contains spells, weapons, and minions. In order to summon or use any of the spell cards, the player requires Mana, which is indicated by crystals that go up by one every turn to a maximum of 10.

Hearthstone is a popular online game with a whopping 100 million players that have joined the game over the years from its release in 2014. There is Hearthstone esports where players from around the world contest to win prize money of $500000.
